Front in Time | Contest Entry | Naruto

“Where the hell are we?” Naruto scratched his head in confusion as they stood right where they started from.

“I honestly have no clue.” Rukia places her hands on her hips.

“My microphone doesn’t work either so we can’t contact Sakura and Sasuke.” Naruto sighs and sits down. “They must be ahead of us now.”

“You know, let’s just keep going. Konoha isn’t far.” Rukia begins to walk and Naruto solemnly gets up and follows. As they neared Konoha, something was off.

“Why does it look different?” Naruto squinted at the gate and beyond that, buildings rose above. Rukia grabbed him, pulling him into the shadows of the trees.

“Shhh.” She hissed. “Look, we should climb over from elsewhere. Something’s wrong.” Naruto nods and they both sneak into Konoha another way. They come across a train station which left them dumbfounded.

“This was never here.” Naruto gaped. He jumps on top of the train and Rukia follows, trying to see what laid ahead. More train tracks and a station.

“Imposters, huh?” Someone scoffed from behind. “Really stupid ones since your trail was easy to follow.”

Naruto and Rukia whip around to find a red-head with red and white clothes. “Who’re you?” Naruto raises an eyebrow.

“Allia, a shinobi of this city, but who are you?” She squints her eyes. “Why are you impersonating Naruto Uzumaki and Rukia Gaijin?”

“It’s because we are them?” Rukia frowns.

“Try again.” Allia smirks and attacks, the train beginning to move. They dodge, getting a glimpse of the Hokage statues in the distant. Naruto was the 7th Hokage. That’s when they realize they had somehow come into the future.
